Cryptocurrency - Trick Number Two
Sarah Michael John is the co-founder of chain Alice's, a company that helps law enforcement track down drug dealers. She says she didn't want to become a professional cryptocurrency tracer and was ambivalence about whether Bitcoin should be used for financial surveillance. But after reading an article on how police could trace money in bitcoins, she started building her own tool which allowed her to do undercover deals with criminals. The paper helped pave the way for Chain Alice's but it wasn't until later that they were able to use their technology to find people who had been selling drugs online.
