The Center for AI Safety was gathering signatures on a statement, basically an open letter that consisted of one sentence. It said mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war. The statement was signed by among other people, Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, Demisisabe,. the CEO of Google Deepmine, and Dario Amadeh, theCEO of Anthropic.
