Chick-fil-A's innovation center discovered employees were fearful of suggesting ideas and trying new things. In Japan, leaders would meet before work started to have breakfast in an open area where anyone could show up for it. "I just thought just became a very natural thing, Chad, to start incorporating people in these very common things," he says.
