The Environmental Land Management Scheme

The UK government is putting forward a new scheme called the environmental land management scheme. The intent there is to subsidise farmers, says Nick Barre of Essex University. But when you look at economic subland ownership in the UK it becomes clear that even legislation designed to protect the environment can be a tool of what we're probably called class warfare.
