The Black Man and the Black Woman
There were thousands of black women that participated in the women's army corps. The largest group was a group called the 688th Central Postal Director Battalion. They distributed 65,000 pieces of mail per day throughout the European theater. On the home front, there are more than a million black Americans participating in defense industries.
