Last week we talked about the genealogy of Jesus and Matthew gives us this great story of Jesus' genealogy being rooted in the story of Israel going back all the way through David to Abraham. We saw that this whole story is a kind of a new Genesis. A new beginning for Israel and for the world. And that's one of the things we love about this Gospel is that it is about a new Genesis in Jesus.
