Youth Drinking in Nigeria
Nigeria ranked first in Africa for per capita alcohol consumption and prevalence of heavy episodic drinking. When Emeka moved to the city to study at university, he found that young people were expected to drink. Large scale qualitative survey data in Nigeria is hard to come by but Emeka says his research interviewing young people shows how much more they're drinking.
