Are You Sure That Your Wife Will Support You in the Church?
In 18 30, emma was told by the lord in verse nine, what we call verse nine, for thy husband shall support thee in the church. She understood that his activity and responsibility and duty was the church. But i think if we also read it, your husband shall support you in the church, meaning as president of the relief society, she too had a significant role and responsibility. So i think it kind of goes both ways. In fact, i really believe that their home was aad a revolving door, that they had people coming in and out, whether that was for church business or civic business. There wasn't a lot of privacy for joseph and emma.
