Some mathematicians don't like the idea that you could talk about an infinite number of things. They're called finitists and ultrafinitists, who believe even large numbers can't exist. So for example, a, they can't call pie a number. Has to be some computational process. Right? Exactly. Ah, and then if it does, it doesn't, or if it doesn't,. Or that's russell's paradox, right? And so ah, that sort of led people to stay away from it. On the other hand, ah, it turned out that you can make consistent rules with regard to it. In fact, canter came up with this
