Is There a Middle Man in the Decision Making Process?

If the person who's the conduit senses that youre undermining them, then it can get really ugly, really fast. It seems like it's a challenge even to determine who is the decision maker. And if you're not working, a situation that i find probably the most frustrating is if i've advocated for thing and this like, perceived middle man to the executive pushes back and like, pushes you in a different direction.
