In general, sound bars demand to be your left and right. That's the only thing people complain about. Sound bars at least are engineered to try to sound good. Whereas, center channels in 5.1 or 7.1 systems are always just like an afterthought speaker. It's almost like the Mac Pro where they didn't want to spend the engineering resources.
