Ticketmaster's Response to Taylor Swift's Pandemic
3.5 billion requests came in for just 2.2 million tickets so that's a huge order of magnitude more requests than there were tickets available because she hasn't toured for six years. Ticketmaster was essentially overwhelmed by two things the inordinate demand for this tour and then also what they have called a cyber attack on their system from people trying to get those tickets so that they could sell them at inflated prices. There is an antitrust hearing going into Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation because Live Nation controls a huge amount of the concert venues and concerts that take place in America.
