Alchemy: A Novel About Bruno
Stephanie Coontz's latest novel, Alchemy, takes place in 1588 at the court of the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II. Bruno is a real figure from the 16th century that you've fictionalized across a series of novels. His court became a kind of hub for thinkers from all over Europe and he had great many interests. He was interested in pushing the frontiers of knowledge in a way that was not encouraged by the Catholic Church at the time.
