The Persistence of Memory

Dolly Breton was expelled from the surrealist movement in 1939. The final straw was his seeming fixation on Adolf Hitler. He exhibited a painting entitled The Enigma of Hitler. Later in life he even painted a more provocative painting called Hitler masturbating. Dolly always had a reasonable excuse for following through with such subjects.
