Excel is a very fast efficient tool for me. It updates quickly in Excel as fast as you can change it. I've used Ninja trader before to do, I guess, market replay. And then the platforms, because market depth data isn't recorded historically, but you can download market depth data from Ninja trader and do back tests on market depth data.
