I argued at the time and I would still argue now that was a foolish thing to do because it had no effect on the ground. The danger is of a miscalculation which could lead to catastrophic consequences. We have to find some ways of seeing how we can end this conflict. It's almost as if the borders with the West are closing, Russia's borders to the east and to the south are opening.
