The Origins of Asropithecus
Between three and four million years ago one hominin species was known and its predecessor so asropithecus anemensis. From there it would all fan out after 3 million years ago to chenianthropus platyops which is now the most well-known Homo sapiens tool maker. There are some intriguing fossils that have been found by a french team in the Sahara desert but many people think that's ultimately also asropithebus afarensis at least you can't really distinguish it too well remains to be seen.
