The Rationalization of Bombing in the Air Ministry
CNN's Jim Boulden looks at the rationalization of bombing in World War II. He says it was aimed at specific military targets, bridges, factories and communication centers. The Air Ministry believed that lower morale would be better than killing lots of Germans, he says. In November 1941, a top bomber commander admitted to going directly for German people themselves rather than industrial targets.
