The Uniquely Biblical View of Grace – Character of God E4

BibleProject

CHAPTER

Introduction

The word that God uses in Exodus 34.6 is hannun, the Hebrew word hannun. To be an object or a person who has hann means that it's something desirable. It evokes the light and pleasure and favor. This phrase is a request for someone to look upon you as favorable or even desirable. And so to find hannun in the eyes of someone means that you're being given a gift of generosity, kindness by someone who you don't properly deserve it or don't necessarily merit it.
