The Origins of Rights
Rights Talk is divided into four parts. I want to pose two more specific problems that quickly emerge when we apply ourselves to the question of Rights. Second, I want to make some distinctions about Rights that concern the two fundamental questions about them. Third, I'll look at what seems to me the key text and Aquinas on this question. And fourth, I'll suggest the lines of a Thomistic understanding of our practice of Rights That goes a good bit towards mitigating the problems discussed by people like Marianne Glendon.
