Venting shares in comments and features can be a form of self-disclosure like oh I just really can't stand this person then maybe venting enjoys some of the same functionality. The reputational damage that women are valued for reputationally they're harder to refute than men. If you gain a reputation as being unfaithful or sexually promiscuous that's a really hard reputation to do away with. You can refute that reputational attack pretty easily but if a guy gets a reputation like oh you're a bum and you have no job he comes along with a Rolex and a lamb.
