The Natural Desire for the Beatific Vision - What God Is Not Something We Naturally Desire to Know
Kenan Foster considered as Dante's most evidently non-Tomistic thesis that man does not have a natural desire for the beatific vision. In making this claim, Foster cites Dante's convivial 315, what God is Is not something we naturally desire to know. For contrast Aquinas' summa-contedentile is, the natural desire to know does not rest in that knowledge of God whereby we know merely that he is.
