The Cost of Densification in New Zealand

Every time they say yes to someone densifying or building a new suburb, the council has to spend a lot of money on infrastructure. Councils don't want development because it costs too much in infrastructure. In New Zealand right now, there are 24,000 people on a waiting list to get into a house. They are essentially homeless. It's all about housing and not having affordable, clean, dry housing. That means we're going to try to reduce our emissions into the atmosphere. We've organised ourselves so that decrepit old 117 Balmoral Road can't be turned into the houses that it needs to be. So how do we change this? Well, we've known about this problem
