In the Middle Ages, medieval convents were common places for outbreaks of mass hysteria. Mass hysteria usually led by women who had been forced into nunneries. In 15th century, nuns began biting each other in convent spread across France and Germanic states. And once several nuns were flogged or drowned to stop them from doing it.
