Blockbuster Goes Bankrupt
Netflix was a good enough product that was different than Blockbuster, which was dominant everywhere. They thought the cost of potentially creating a new division in Blockbuster that did mail order DVDs to compete with this little upstart was going to take away from their profitability. "They didn't think about the long-term consequences of not mounting a competition to this new competitor," he says.
