The Postponement of the Blinken State of the Union Meeting
Gergen: The delay probably was mostly for political reasons. I think it's probably the politics of anticipating that the timing of where it was going, when it was going to get shot down. And the fact that the state of the union speech is tomorrow is just too politically sensitive for Blinken to have gone now because it would have just fed into the media firestorm in the US. Gerard: There might be a better window before the two sessions in early March if we can move quickly to sort of get over the hump of at least this media cycle and then proceed with the trip.
