We Didn't Know We Were Stars
Musicians were studio musicians first and foremost. Home players, unlike the MG's, weren't even salaried studio players. They actually worried if they could go at all because they had to go to the house. The tour went beyond anyone's wildest imaginings. Everyone remembers it as a contest between Reading and Sam and Dave. It showed the musicians they were important. As Steve Cropolator said, it was totally a mind-blower.
