What's the Ecological Function of the Humans?
Every living thing exists to fulfill a function. That has big implications then for the way we live our lives. How do we discover what our function in the world is? Well, there's two really responses about what is our individual function and what's our species function. Our civilization is definitely in trouble because it's built on resource extraction. The earth doesn't need to say anything. It's not in trouble. We've actually been very much like pollinators sending out these bacteria-filled probes all through the solar system. And I think that's part of the drive that human beings have had to do that.
