ASTM braiding keeps brands accountable that you can't claim something that is totally off the rails and incorrect. REI and Mountain Equipment Co-op in Canada have been very strict as saying like we will not carry your pad if it's not tested to the ASTM standard. So I think a lot of pad manufacturers are just like, well, got to step up to the plate and test our pads If those guys aren't going to carry them.
