The moon doesn't have wind or waves like Earth does to make that dust softer. Every piece of moon dust is jagged and sharp, so it's just flying like bullets all over the place. One of the astronauts actually got sick from all of it. In a post-flight debriefing, astronaut Gene Sernan said: "I think we can overcome other physiological or physical or mechanical problems, except dust"
NASA just launched the Artemis program, a series of missions that will eventually take humans back to the moon, and beyond. But can humans actually survive in space long-term?
