The UK Magnetic Society talks about why magnets are so useful on roller coasters. It's non-contact which means it will never wear out. If the entire power to the park should fail it's okay because it's all done without any power at all. So if you could get this up to the size of a human then you don't need the International Space Station anymore. You would never need that ever again. Yeah we would just sit in a pod on Earth. But so far it's just frogs and mice. Of limited use.
