Ruth is a "Moabitess" - what does that mean?
Moab and Ammon were born to Lot and Lot's elder and younger daughters, respectively, in the aftermath of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The Bible refers to both the Moabites and Ammonites as Lot's sons, born of incest with his daughters (Genesis 19:37–38).

Those Excluded from the Assembly
“No Ammonite or Moabite may enter the assembly of the Lord. Even to the tenth generation, none of them may enter the assembly of the Lord forever...
The book of Zephaniah states that Moab would become "a permanent desolation".

Boaz is the son of Salmon and Rahab.
Ruth and Boaz have Obed.
Obed has Jesse.
Jesse has King David - the great grandson of Ruth!
