The Oracle of Delphi was protected by Petho, a reticulated python. Zeus and the Olympians were looking for places where they could tap into the power of the earth itself. They recruited two eagles from opposite ends of the world to help with their search. After flying a long time, the eagles finally crossed paths in Delphi.
