The Importance of Repitulation in the New Testament
In Luke's gospel Jesus says the following, for I tell you that this scripture must be fulfilled in me and he was numbered with the transgressors. The original servant is a remnant of righteous Jews within Israel, whose suffering helps the collective go home out of exile. What the New Testament writers are saying is, yes, we actually affirm that. And Jesus is going to do it in himself in a righteous remnant of one. He's going to die among transgressors in order to save his people from their sins.
