How to Make a Difference in Teaching Phonics
I was using leveled readers that basically required the three queuing. They required kids to guess kind of that whole site word, not what scientists would call sight word. So I definitely wasn't doing that phonemic level awareness kind of kind of work in the class either until I learned all about that. And then I think the biggest issue was the reading material I was giving the kids to use was completely undermining any phonics instruction they were getting.
