There were interactions, probably coastal foragers that were intermarrying with each other along this whole zone. It looks like there's gene flow north, gene flow south, reciprocal gene flow. But when you go interior, there's less gene flow. So it looks like the fragmentation was particularly driven by continental climate in the interior whereas the coastal populations were more integrated. What we are seeing is switched to agriculture and various expansions and admixtures.
