The Inferno Was a Firefighter's Dream

People were stacked six feet high in the doorway, begging for help. Those that made it outside tried pulling people to safety through windows and out of the log jammed front door. One man described trying to free a man from the pile by tugging on his arm. He told sianin that the man's skin peeled off like a sweater and fell to the floor. Some of the victims burns were so severe that rescue workers claimed they prayed to god for them to die.
