The Story of Bill Gates and Paul Allen

Bill Gates learned to program on a PDP-10 when he was 17 years old. He and his friend Paul Allen were hired by TRW as programmers for an electrical grid project. The company paid them $165 per week, which at the time was pittance but they couldn't believe their good fortune. "I am also very absent-minded and lazy toward things from which I derive no active or contemplative pleasure," Bill says in one of his journals.
