The East Coast vs. The West Coast Rivalry

Ken Craigin's 1986 project was a grand scale hunger and homelessness effort called Hands Across America. The charity Megasingle went on to have an impact on rap's first Golden Age and its first coastal rivalry. New York rapper KRS1 founded the Stop the Violence movement in 1987, after a young fan was killed at a show headlined by his crew Boogie Down Productions and Public Enemy. A year later, NWA's Dr. Dre produced his own anti-violence record.
