The Good Enough Parent
The good enough parent is able to admit his or her mistakes and still come through for the children. But he also said therer many occasions where a parents, for whatever reason, are not able to be good enough. And in those situations, the children have to create what he called a caretaker self, or a false self, for themselves. So therapy and meditation both afford an opportunity to dip back down into that kind of experience that might have been left behind by normalcy.
