Introduction
William Blake's poem The Tiger brought back the memory of my father. My father died at age 60 of colon cancer many years ago. I had forgotten about dad loving that poem and about him once in a while reciting it. We as writers don't know the effect our words will have on our readers. But many of our words written today may echo down the generations moving people. Words have an eternal, almost a magical power. And that's why we study writing. We'd like some of that magical power.
