I think scatter plots are incredibly intuitive and I use them all the times. The things that stick out at me are the times when people don't get it because you know we tend to look at the negatives we're often the way out. One thing that I encourage people to do is just try different stuff and try different visualizations which didn't exist back then.

As analysts, we conduct analysis on behalf of the business to (hopefully) provide them with clear and objective information to help with making decisions. We use visualizations of data and, when we're really hitting our stride, we even tell data stories. So, how does that compare to mainstream journalism and the stories they tell, especially when there is data that can be visualized in support of the story or the analysis?
