Urban policies tend to present planning as a remedial technique that is relatively detached from the political economy of a certain society or political economic reaching. I wanted to complicate this narrative by showing that urbanization is actually a side of struggle and that planning and urban policies are the result of those struggles. So from the very title of the book, you know, against the commons, planning against the commons,. This idea of how planning gets involved in this struggles is, I think, obvious.
