The house was in desperate need of repair and had been ransacked by the previous heirs who were tearing up upholstery, looking for hidden heirlooms and hidden money. They found an apartment that looked like it could work - but then came this old woman with fleas holding a dirty poodle whom Edwin called 'rabbid and filthy' And so far, no question about whether she is mentally unwell or not.
