The Prayer of Manasseh and the Apologetics

I'd love to get your wisdom on it because whenever I pray the prayer of Manasseh and the apocrypha I always stumble over verse 8. Does this represent a different understanding of sin the righteous and repentance or is there another way of thinking about this? So just having heard this passage for the first read and heard this passage the first time this morning it strikes me as something of an anomaly perhaps. It's not necessarily their own person somebody like Daniel right who didn't worship idols was faithful you know refused to eat even the meat that was associated with idols he still says a prayer of repentanceright as do Ezra and Nehemiah.
