The Dark Matter Hypothesis

In the 1930s, Swickys thought it was likely that there existed some sort of exotic dark matter. He also toyed with ideas that he thought maybe the laws of physics were different in that part of the universe than they are here. But then evidence for this dark matter kept piling up and physicists started to rule out explanations that weren't working.
