I'm so much more curious and open minded than i used to be. I think it's too bad that the best educational opportunities are wasted on the young. Your great virtue is that you saw that economics didn't only have to be applied to narrowly economic issues. History is different as a discipline in that respect, because it is inherently a study of human realities changing over time.
