Ike, I'm a Believer in the Church of Zone

Ike's training programme was built upon this church of zone too. Without doing any threshold or tempo work whatsoever, i was able to go from somebody who couldnt run faster than ten minutes per mile without going into zone three two years later. Just by building that foundation bit by bit. And it's all about the ability to come back the next day and the nextday and the next day. I think there's something about that consistency such that when you do have an effort, let's say you're attacking a hill or whatever, ah, and your way out of your zone too to do, so you come back down to that base line zone too very quickly.
