In 62 AD, things came to a head when Pompilla announced that she was pregnant with Nero's child. The people seemed to take the betrayal of Octavia personally. It got so bad that people began carrying statues of Octavia through the streets demanding that she be recalled from exile. 18 days later, Nero married Papilla in a lavish ceremony.
