Emotionalism

Ashley: Why is it so powerful to describe the problems of society in terms of emotions? And and what does that emotional narrative actually say? Am: We're continually faced with these wicked issues, issues that are very deep and difficult to solve. But we have a political context in which people have to solve these issues. There's an appetite for simple solutions to complex problems, for magic bullets. I'm tempted to bea plain devil's advocate a bit. To just conclude, look, this is just media and social policy froth.
